GOTHAM Opening Credits | GOTHAM

We'll know what the real opening credits look like on September 29th (or if there are any...) In the meantime, here's my version, hope you enjoy it! I'd been wanting to do this ever since the show was announced (I was initially going to use clips from other shows the actors were in, like SouthLAnd), and eventually spent a couple of evenings this week putting it together on Adobe Premiere Pro using the available promo material. The song I used is "Bat for a Heart" performed by Ashlee Simpson, written by Simpson & Linda Perry, and re-edited by me. "Bat for a Heart" immediately felt like the right fit when I first thought of doing this, for obvious reasons. I jokingly considered R. Kelly's "Gotham City", but felt it would just be silly. It's not perfect by any means (again, just a couple of evenings' work), and quality of footage may vary (some sources were 1080p, others 720p) but I'm quite happy with it overall and I think some parts flow really, really well. Closing on the shot of Selina Kyle overlooking the city just seemed natural. I chose to transition each character "intro" with a shot of the city, as the show is called Gotham after all and I felt the credits should adequately convey that. The toughest part was finding a good shot of Zabryna Guevara's face among the available material and due to the scarcity of footage with her character I ended up using crime and the precinct to represent her before the headshot.
