I encircled it with my limits, and I positioned its bars and doors. And I said: “This far you will approach, and you will proceed no further, and here you will break your swelling waves.” Responsorial Psalm: Ps 107:23-24, 25-26, 28-29, 30-31 R. (1b) Give thanks to the Lord, his love is everlasting. They that go down to the sea in ships, doing business in the great waters: These have seen the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep. R. Give thanks to the Lord, his love is everlasting. He said the word, and there arose a storm of wind: and the waves thereof were lifted up. They mount up to the heavens, and they go down to the depths: their soul pined away with evils. R. Give thanks to the Lord, his love is everlasting. And they cried to the Lord in their affliction: and he brought them out of their distresses. And he turned the storm into a breeze: and its waves were still. R. Give thanks to the Lord, his love is everlasting. And they rejoiced because they were still: and he brought them to the haven which they wished for. Let the mercies of the Lord give glory to him, and his wonderful works to the children of men. R. Give thanks to the Lord, his love is everlasting. Reading 2: 2 Cor 5:14-17 Brothers and sisters: For the charity of Christ urges us on, in consideration of this: that if one died for all, then all have died. And Christ died for all, so that even those who live might not now live for themselves, but for him who died for them and who rose again. And so, from now on, we know no one according to the flesh. And though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him in this way no longer. So if anyone is a new creature in Christ, what is old has passed away. Behold, all things have been made new. Alleluia: Lk 7:16 R. Alleluia, alleluia. A great prophet has risen in our midst God has visited his people. R. Alleluia, alleluia. Gospel: Mark 4:35-41 And on that day, when evening had arrived, he said to them, “Let us cross over.” And dismissing the crowd, they brought him, so that he was in one boat, and other boats were with him. And a great wind storm occurred, and the waves broke over the boat, so that the boat was being filled. And he was in the stern of the boat, sleeping on a pillow. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, does it not concern you that we are perishing?” And rising up, he rebuked the wind, and he said to the sea: “Silence. Be stilled.” And the wind ceased. And a great tranquility occurred. And he said to them: “Why are you afraid? Do you still lack faith?” And they were struck with a great fear. And they said to one another, “Who do you think this is, that both wind and sea obey him?” === Reflection: https://mycatholic.life/books/catholi... Copyright © 2020 My Catholic Life! Inc.
