Closing worship service prayer (10/26/2025)
10/26/2025 morning worship service Pastor Anthony Fields " "What Does the Lord Want from Us?" Philippians 2: 5-11 This is a practical message of the text "Have this mindset, this attitude. among yourselves which was in Christ." Attitude remains an abstract, an intangible, until it is physically expressed. It is an unknown until it is exercised in actions. Five things to understand and employ in our lives if we want to become servants like Jesus. 1. Being a servant means giving up my rights for others. Look in verse 6. 2. Being a servant means.. becoming less so others can become more. Look at verse 7. 3. Servanthood means being obedient whatever the cost. Look at verse 8. 4. Servanthood will be rewarded. Look at verses 9-11. Proverbs 22:4: Matthew 23:11: James 4:10: Luke 14:11-14 5. Being a servant is more about being than it is about doing. Are you here to serve or are you here to be served? Is your attitude like the world's or is it like Christ's? Are you going through the motions of service 'or' are you becoming a servant? Will you be like Jesus today or not?" __________________ "Let my heart be sound in your statutes : that I may not be put to shame. Psalm 119:73 -77 Your hands have made me and fashioned me. Give me understanding, that I may learn your commandments. Those who fear you will be glad when they see me : because I trust in your word. I know, O Lord, that your judgments are right: and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me. Let your loving-kindness be my comfort : as you have promised to your servant. Let your compassion come to me, that I may live : for your law is my delight. Let my heart be sound in your statutes: that I may not be put to shame." _________________ "Lord, teach us, Spiritual formation takes time and discipline just as a seed must be watered, nurtured, and pruned as it grows. Deepen our roots in spiritual growth even as we are extended in our passion for peace and justice. Amen." __________________ "THINK ON THIS. 'SERVANT of the Lord" "'A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.'" 2 Timothy 2:24 Describes a state of being where one dedicates their life to serving God's will characterized by obedience, humility, and faithfulness. This role involves surrendering personal desires to follow God's purposes, serving others as a reflection of God's love, and living with loyalty to Christ. It's important to note that being a servant does not mean being a slave but is an adopted role of partnership and family with God through Christ. In the New Testament, this phrase is used by figures like the Apostle Paul to describe their role in relation to Christ. Christians are called to live a life of service, recognizing that they have been bought by Christ and owe Him their loyalty. It's a role of honor that also signifies belonging to God's family as adopted children. ____________________ "How to be Thank-FULL in the midst of grief" 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 With death comes grief. When we're in the midst of that kind of grief it's difficult to imagine ever being whole again. But there is a way to ease our grief and mend our broken hearts. That way is called thankfulness. ⁃ Are you mourning a loved one? Tell God how you feel. Let His presence in this moment and His promises for the future to comfort you. Are you sure you will spend eternity in heaven? ⁃ There's no better time than now to call out to Jesus and give your life to Him. ⁃ Are you sure your loved ones will spend eternity in heaven? What is your next step when it comes to your relationships with friends and family who might not know Jesus?"
