Sourdough Focaccia Bread |How to make homemade sourdough | Garlic & Rosemary Bread

Focaccia Bread Ingredients: 2 ½ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast 1 ¾ cups warm water (110°F or 43°C) 1 tbsp sugar 5 cups all-purpose flour 1 tbsp sea salt ½ cup extra virgin olive oil (plus more for drizzling) 4 cloves garlic, minced 2-3 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped Coarse sea salt (for sprinkling) Instructions: Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy. Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and 1 tbsp sea salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and ½ cup of olive oil. Stir until the dough comes together. Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment. First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size. Shape the Focaccia: Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to a greased baking sheet (about 9x13 inches). Spread it out to cover the surface of the pan. Second Rise: Cover the dough again and let it rise for another 30 minutes. Prepare the Toppings: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, and a few tablespoons of olive oil. Dimple the Dough: Once the dough has risen, use your fingers to poke deep dimples all over the surface of the dough. Top and Bake: Drizzle the garlic-rosemary oil mixture over the dough, making sure it gets into the dimples. Sprinkle coarse sea salt on top. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool and Serve: Let the focaccia cool slightly on a wire rack.
