Toxicity towards girl gamers
Why do girls feel like this in gaming? Leave your thoughts in the comments. I will read and respond to every single one. So this idea of mine came to me after I uploaded a video on my TikTok. Usually, on my TikTok, I upload clips from my stream and my YouTube channel and in this particular video, I had uploaded Tip #2 in my video: How to actually be good at Valorant. Here's the clip: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZSJChEsg2/ Original video: • How to actually be good at Valorant Seems like a pretty normal tip right? I thought so. But when I uploaded this onto my TikTok, it blew up. For my standards. It got over 25K views and 3K likes in under 48 hours. And over 500 comments which was crazy. As the comments were coming in I noticed there were a lot of people commenting talking about how they don’t feel comfortable talking in-game because of various things. Some said that they’re 2 years old and sound something like this, some people said they’re young but sound old and creepy. Some people said they have an accent. But the biggest one that stood out to me is that a lot of girls said that they weren’t comfortable talking in-game because of getting sexually harassed and being called mean things, mostly by guys. At first, I was shocked by how many girls actually feel like this. So I decided to look further into it. The first question I had was Why do girls feel like this? There is a lot of toxicity in gaming, the typical “you’re bad” “you suck” is said in almost every game, but is this different to the type of shit that girls experience? Yes and no. From what I’ve found, a lot of people are toxic regardless of gender. If you’re shit at the game, or if you’re doing something wrong in the game, people are going to get mad and be toxic regardless of what happens. And a rare few are toxic for no apparent reason. But there is a small percentage of guys that only are toxic when they hear a girl's voice, which is a problem. This is what most girls are scared of. The type of toxicity like “Go back to the kitchen” “Make me a sandwich” shit like this is stupid and should honestly be stopped. I think this is where most of the problem lies. Saying this, Is this type of toxicity any different to the toxicity that guys experience? This is an interesting question because I’m not actually sure of this. Personally, I am the type of person to not mind a bit of toxicity and have never taken offence to anything anyone says online. I know most of them are pussys anyways and I’ll bash their heads in if I see them IRL. But for me, I see a lot of toxicity like “you’re shit at the game”. Or when I’m in a 1v3 scenario my team will immediately say gg etc. But is this anything new? No. So do girls get a different type of toxicity than us guys? I’m not sure, but let me know what you think in the comments. Do girls react differently when they encounter a toxic teammate or opponent? Yes, I think so. A lot of girls do react differently to guys who have “softer skin” than most guys. But so do guys. A lot of guys are also little boys that can’t take much either. But obviously, I’m not some studied up nerd so I don’t know what the stats for this one are. But in my personal experience, I think a lot of girls do react differently to guys in the case that they can’t take as much shit or have “softer skin”. So is this really a problem? Yes, it is. And I can tell and show you why. A lot of guys, mostly young boys between the age of 13-18 and sometimes even older, hear a girl's voice and act like absolute degenerates. Let me show you the clips that I was sent from multiple girls along with some videos I found online. Video: • What Girl Gamers REALLY Have To Deal With ... After seeing multiple videos like this I can see why girls find it hard to play online in voice chat. Personally, I’ve never seen this in my games. I’ve heard a couple of girls on the mic without anyone saying anything. I don’t think girls should be treated this way and these types of guys are just degenerates in my opinion. I don’t wanna shit on these kids too much but I’m almost 100% sure they have not seen the sun recently and have not felt the touch of a girl in many moons.
