ECSM shares a service of progressive Christian worship on Sunday, Dec 17th with Rev. Will McGarvey preaching a message entitled “Oh Joy!, Oy Vay” for the 3rd Sunday of Advent. Together, we sang “Light One Candle to Watch for Messiah” (85), “What Can I Give Him?” (Mark Hayes, WDS), “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee” (611), “Right Here, Right Now” (Chuck Bell, Marcia McFee, WDS), and “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing” (119) for the closing song. Elaine Palmer played piano music for the service, including “My Soul Gives Glory to My God (Song of Mary)” (99) for Special Music, “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” (88) for the offertory, “Old 100th” for the doxology, and “Canticle of the Turning” (100) for the postlude.
