Jn 15, 9-17 “This is my commandment: that you love one another as I have loved you”

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: "As the Father loves me, so I love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I keep my Father's commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love for his friends than this, to lay down his life for them. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master is doing. I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who chose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that the Father may grant you whatever you ask in my name. This is what I will do for you. I command: that you love one another.
