8 Weeks Pregnant | What to expect?

At 8 weeks, you’re nearing the completion of your first trimester. In this week’s video, you’ll discover your baby’s developmental milestones, common physical changes you might experience, and tips for self-care. During your 8-week ultrasound, you may hear your baby’s heartbeat for the first time! While your baby is still quite small, significant progress is being made. You’ll notice changes in your body, including growth in your breasts and increased blood flow to them, as well as changes in your uterus. Common issues at this stage may include frequent urination, abdominal cramping, skin pigmentation, and varicose veins. Your hormones will be fluctuating, leading to heightened senses (especially smell) and some gastrointestinal discomfort. Weird dreams might also occur. While your belly may not show much yet, if you’re carrying twins, it could be more noticeable by now. You may have your first prenatal appointment this week. Some expectant moms experience various pregnancy symptoms around this time, while others may not have any symptoms at all—both are completely normal! Don’t worry if you’re feeling different; it’s all part of the journey.
