THEME OF THE SUNDAY: Christ welcomes and forgives sinners. The story of the prodigal son is one of the most famous ever told by Jesus. The Father in this story is merciful to his wayward son because he loves him and forgives him his past misdeeds. God is our Father who forgives us because he loves us. We should have no fear in returning to him no matter what we have done in the past. Our forgiveness is to be found in Christ who came into this world to forgive sinners.
