It is the classic struggle between man who wants to be god, and God who wants to save man. God comes with a crystal clear mirror to show us truth. But, a megalomaniac cannot abide the slightest indication that their self image does not match reality. In desperation, humanity is willing to do anything to silence the voices that whisper, "you are not the divine arbiter of right and wrong."
