One of our favorite family trips ever!
Rancho de la Osa in southern AZ was so cool! A great, family friendly destination. When people tell me that they need the opposite of Disney- this is what I recommend. Aside from the fact that the adobe walls don't let WiFi through, so you get a chance to be forced to disconnect- there are activities from horse back riding to sitting on the patio to bow and arrow lessons, even a pool! The dude ranch is historic, with documentation back to when the Spanish had control of the area and includes hieroglyphs from native tribes. The food is amazing and you sit at a long family style dining table to be served home cooked meals 3x/day. Your kid may even get the chance to ring the dinner bell! We came back from this trip refreshed and connected, which is a lot to accomplish in a few short days!
