Pakistan lost the 2nd ODI by 84 runs against New Zealand in Hamilton

Pakistan Tour of New Zealand 2025:-The 2nd Match of 3 Match ODI series was played between New Zealand and Pakistan at Seddon Park Hamilton New Zealand on 2nd April, 2025. In this match New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 84 runs.In this match Pakistan Captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and opted to bowl first. New Zealand while batting first batted superbly and scored 292 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs and gave target of 293 runs to Pakistan to win.In reply Pakistan were all out at paltry score of 208 runs in 41.2 overs and lost the match by 84 runs. New Zealand while batting first started well and added 54 runs in 6.2 overs for the first wicket. Nick Kelly was first to go caught by Mohammad Rizwan of the bowling of Haris Rauf after scoring 31 runs from 23 balls.Then other opener Rhys Mariu was removed by Mohammad Wasim Jr and scored 18 runs. Henry Nicholls made 22 runs and was out LBW to Akif Javed. Daryl Mitchell made well compiled 18 runs from 18 balls hitting 2 fours and was stumped by Mohammad Rizwan of the bowling of Sufiyan Muqeem. Captain Michael Bracewell contributed 17 runs only.Mitchell Hay was out without scoring in the last match but top scored in this match with brilliant 99 not out runs from 78 balls hitting 7 fours and 7 sixes. Muhammad Abbas scored 41 runs from 66 balls hitting 3 fours. Jacob Duffy remained not out without scoring. For Pakistan Two wickets each were taken by Mohammad Wasim Jr and Sufiyan Muqeem. One wicket each went to Haris Rauf,Akif Javed and Faheem Ashraf. New Zealand scored 292 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. Pakistan while Chasing huge target of 292 runs to win failed miserably again and were bundled out at 208 runs in 41.2 overs. Pakistan started badly and at one stage were reeling at 9 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 5.3 overs with top order batsmen back to pavallion. William ORourke took the first wicket of Abdullah Sahfique caught by Daryl Mitchell and scored one run only. Babar Azam was next to go caught by Henry Nicholls of the the bowling of Jacob Duffy after scoring one run only. Jacob Duffy then took the wicket of Imam-ul-Haq who scored 3 runs. Then Ben Sears took of wickets of Captain Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha who scored 5 and 9 runs respectively. Pakistan lost the wickets at regular intervals and were never in the game. Ben Sears then removed Faheem Ashraf caught by Mitchell Hay after scoring well complied 73 runs from 80 balls hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes. Tayyab Tahir contributed 13 run and Naseem Shah made 51 runs. Haris Rauf was out retired hurt and Sufiyan Muqeem remained not out on 13 runs. Pakistan lost the match by 84 runs and now lost the series 2-0 with one match to go.
