First Reading: Wisdom 3:1-9 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 23:1-3A, 3B-4, 5, 6 Second Reading: Romans 6:3-9 or Romans 5:5-11 Alleluia: Matthew 25:34 Gospel: John 6:37-40 When loved ones die, our wish and prayer is that they will go to heaven immediately. Yet, we are unsure. For Scripture tells us that one’s soul must be spotlessly clean for it to enter heaven. But we can also infer that there is a place called purgatory to purify souls; for God, in His love and mercy for man, does not want us to languish in hell forever for our venial sins. This is the 939th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
