
Twenty third Sunday After Pentecost October 27, 2024
ECSM shares a service of progressive Christian worship for Sunday, October 27, the twenty-third Sunday after Pentecost. Rev. Dr. Evelyn Vigil shared a message: Only Through Faith Do We See Clearly Rev. Dr. Karen Hastings-Flegel provided the organ prelude, offertory and postlude: Allegretto from “Spring” by Antonio Vivaldi and Largo from “Winter” by Antonio Vivaldi, “Praeludium in B-flat Major,” J.S. Bach, and Filipino Saint: San Lorenzo Luiz, Eduardo P. Hontiveros. Together we sang “God Welcomes All” (399), “Be Thou My Vision” (450), “Here Are Our Hearts” (Susan Drake & Julie Jennings), “My Faith Looks up to Thee” (829), “Doxology” (606), and “We’ve Come This Far by Faith,” (656). Special music was provided by soloists Jane Fish and Donald Lang: “I Can See Clearly Now” (Johnny Nash) accompanied by Elaine Palmer on piano.
