In our own ways, we can also nurture our own mission by adopting a prayerful life and finding in our hearts a preferential option for the poor—just like St. Luke. Today, as we celebrate his feast day, let us pray that we may be blessed with the gift of prayer and a radical and preferential option for the poor.
