Every family has their own version and thereās not a tailgate party, potluck, family celebration or BBQ restaurant that doesnāt have it on the menu. If youāre looking for a simple favorite Southern dessert that everyone will love, this is the best Banana Pudding recipe ever and won't disappoint! This banana pudding recipe with cool whip, sour cream and instant vanilla pudding mix comes together in less than 15 minutes. Then, just allow it to sit in the refrigerator for 4 hours or overnight before serving. Top with a layer of whipped cream or Cool Whip, sprinkle with crushed vanilla wafers and it's picture perfect and ready to serve. Easy Banana Pudding Recipe ingredients 1 cup sour cream 16 oz Cool Whip, thawed 1 5 oz package instant vanilla pudding mix 1 Ā½ cup milk 3 or 4 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced 1 16 oz package Nabisco Nilla Mini Wafers Combine sour cream, 8 oz of Cool Whip, vanilla pudding and milk. I start with a thin layer of pudding on the bottom, followed by a layer of cookies. Slice the bananas into slices about Ā¼ of an inch thick. Layer the banana slices, then continue alternating layers of pudding, cookies and bananas. End with a layer of cookies. Wrap and refrigerate for at least four hours or overnight. While the pudding is chilling, crush about Ā½ cup of Nilla Mini Wafer cookies using a rolling pin. Once the pudding is cold, remove from the refrigerator. Top the pudding with Cool Whip or whipped cream, and sprinkle with the crushed Nilla cookies. Yum! The cookies are nice and meltingly soft, the banana begins to flavor the vanilla pudding.
