Let’s make - Protein-Packed Rajma Pulao . Did you Know? Rajma (kidney beans) is rich in zinc, a vital nutrient for healthy skin. It’s also packed with iron and protein, which help reduce hair fall and promote hair growth. Additionally, the biotin content in rajma supports strong, healthy hair. . Ingredients: Rajma - 1 Cup Rice - 2 Glass Water - 4 Glass Onion - 2 Large (thinly sliced) Tomato - 3 Medium Bay Leaf - 1 Cardamom - 2 Cinnamon - 1 Inch Cloves - 2 Green Chilli - 2 Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Spoon Mint Leaves - 1 Handful Chilli Powder – 1 Spoon Rajma Masala - 1 Spoon Turmeric - 1/4 Spoon Kasuri Methi - 1 Spoon Coriander - 1/2 Cup Oil - 2 Spoons Ghee - 1 Spoon Salt - As required . Soak rajma overnight (or for at least 5-6 hours if short on time). Pressure cook with salt until soft. Set aside with the cooking water. In a pressure cooker, heat oil and ghee. Add bay leaf, cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves. Sauté until aromatic. Add sliced onions, slit green chilies, ginger-garlic paste and mint leaves. Fry until onions are golden. Stir in tomatoes. Cook until mushy and oil separates. Add chili powder, garam masala, turmeric, salt, and kasuri methi. Mix well. Now add cooked rajma, gently combine and pour in the reserved rajma water along with additional water (to make up 4 glasses). Add soaked rice and chopped coriander. Cook on high flame for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. When the water level reduces and rice appears on top, close the lid with the whistle. Cook on low flame for 10 minutes. Then switch off the heat, even if you don’t get whistle. Allow it to rest for another 10 minutes. Your Protein rich, Super Healthy & Delicious Rajma Pulav is ready, serve hot with raita or coconut chutney. . PS: Be cautious with salt, remember you’ve already added some while cooking the rajma. Adjust the quantity of rajma as per your preference. I added more as I love more beans in every bite. For best results, ensure the rajma is soaked for at least 5-6 hours if not overnight.. .
