"Hands Of Jesus" cover song sung by the Lighthouse Village Church of God's worship band
3/16/2025 morning worship service Pastor Anthony Fields " "Blessings and Woes— A Level Place" Luke 6:17-26 Blessing – Rewards? Woes, Curses – Punishments? 17 And He came down with them and stood on a level place with a crowd of His disciples. ● Blessings "Blessed are you poor, For yours is the kingdom of God. ²¹ Blessed are you who hunger now, For you shall be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, For you shall laugh. ²² Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man's sake. ²³ Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven, For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets. ● Woes ²⁴ "But woe to you who are rich, For you have received your consolation. ²⁵ Woe to you who are full, For you shall hunger. Woe to you who laugh now, For you shall mourn and weep. ²⁶ Woe to you when all men speak well of you, For so did their fathers to the false prophets." If we really want to stand with Jesus then maybe we need to move to a level place. I wonder if we are willing to do that. Or will we leave Jesus standing by himself?" ______________________ Responsive reading: "Psalm 84:8–12 Behold our defender, O God and look upon the face of your Anointed. For one day in your courts is better than a thousand in my own room and to stand at the threshold of the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of the wicked. For the Lord God is both sun and shield he will give grace and glory; no good thing will the Lord withhold from those who walk with integrity. O Lord of hosts happy are they who put their trust in you! Lord God of hosts, hear our prayer listen, O God of Jacob. Lord God of hosts, hear our prayer: listen, O God of Jacob." ______________________ " "Think on This: How to Pray: 5 Simple Steps You Can Follow" 1. Praise God "Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy."- Matthew 6:9, Take a few minutes to declare who God is using your own words. He's holy. He's faithful. He's good! Make it personal and praise him for who he is to you. Be sure to thank him for what he's done in your life. 2. Ask for God's Plan to Be Fulfilled "May your kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven." Matthew 6:10 When we pray, we tend to immediately dive into asking God for our way. Our needs. Our desires. But God knows what is truly best for all of us, and his plan is so much better than Ours. 3. Ask For What You Need "Give us today the food we need ..." Matthew 6:11 Jesus wasn't afraid to ask God to fulfill that need. We don't have to be afraid to ask God for our needs either. 4. Ask for Forgiveness "... and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us." Mathew 6:12 5. 5. Ask for Help Through Temptation "And don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one."-- Matthew 6:13. All of us struggle with diferent things. When you pray, be specific about what you struggle to resist." ______________________ " "Why it matters that you know who you are" 2 Corinthians 5:17, Isaiah 61:3 Caterpillar to butterfly. Ashes to beauty. Death to life. As we follow Jesus, we become more like Him, and that's a beautiful thing. When you look in the mirror, do you see ashes, mourning, and despair, or do you see beauty, gladness, and praise? Is there an idea, attitude, or action in your life that needs to be more like Christ? Take a minute to thank God for being a perfect Father, and ask Him to transform your life more into His image."
