Today's Catholic Mass Readings and Reflections December 19, 2022 | Mass Gospel and Reflection | Luke Catholic Daily Mass Readings for December 19, 2022, Monday of the Fourth Week of Advent 1st Reading Judges 13:2-7, 24-25A Responsorial Psalm Psalms 71:3-4A, 5-6AB, 16-17 Gospel Luke 1:5-25 Personal Reflection Today’s Reflection on the Readings Prayer Personal Reflection Do I firmly believe that God is capable of anything, no matter how inconceivable it may seem? Today’s Reflection on the Readings The birth of John the Baptist, the Messiah's forerunner, is announced in today's Mass Gospel. Dear Friends, this is a joyful and glad announcement for two reasons: first, the barren couple is blessed with a child in their old age; and second, the unborn child will "make ready for the Lord a people prepared." For the promised Savior's arrival is quickly approaching. Friends, the birth of John is a testament to God's ability to "Write straight on crooked lines." God can accomplish anything. Even in the most unlikely circumstances, he continues to work. Even when everything seems hopeless, He blesses us with pleasant surprises. Dear friends, Today's Catholic Mass Readings teach us that everything that occurs is part of God's plan. Dear friends, Today’s Mass Gospel gives us hope. Dear Mother Mary's Protection family, may each of us have faith that everything will be made beautiful and true in God's time. Dear Friends, Jesus will banish our shame and sorrows in His time because we were created, called, and set apart. Let us take a moment to pause and give the Lord all our needs while continuing to be faithful to Him in our words, actions, and thoughts. We firmly trust and adore you, Lord. Allow us to experience your strength in our need. Prayer Mighty and Glorious Lord I am grateful for the 510 members of my family who are under Mother Mary's protection. We are grateful to you, Lord, for letting each of us know that your ways are not the same as ours. Lord, please help us to always be completely devoted to you. May almighty God bless us, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. I thank all my subscribers for your constant support of this channel.
