[Short Sermon] "A Time for Complete Obedience" | Daily Devotion | 2024-10-18

October 18, 2024 (Friday) A Time for Complete Obedience “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). (Matthew 1:23) The Bible tells us stories of amazing miracles that show God’s power and love. These miracles, things that seemed impossible, became real and gave people new hope and a way to salvation. What’s important to understand is that these experiences didn’t come because people were talented or had special knowledge. Even those with a childlike heart can experience these miracles through complete obedience to God. God is always working to open new paths for people when their lives feel stuck. He restores broken lives, provided manna in the wilderness where there was no food, and gave the gift of speaking different languages through the Holy Spirit to the disciples, who once felt limited. God also raises up people—even those who feel like burnt-out pieces of wood—to become His prophets and share the message of life and salvation with the world. This is a mission even angels cannot fulfill. But all these amazing works of God require complete surrender from us. Without full trust and obedience to Him, these miracles would not happen. If we give our lives fully to God and obey His Word, miracles of life and salvation can still happen today. I hope today will be a day when you experience the amazing works of God in your life. Dear Lord, we pray that today our lives may be fully given to You. Help us to accept Your wisdom and follow Your guidance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
