Creamy Tuscan shrimp pasta for dinner
1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined 2 cups heavy cream 1 medium onion, finely chopped 4 cloves garlic, minced 12 oz (340g) pasta (penne, fettuccine, or your choice) 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste) 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp onion powder 1 tsp garlic and herb seasoning 1 tsp dried oregano 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning 2 tbsp sweet cream unsalted butter 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained 1/2 tsp paprika 2 tbsp cooking oil (olive oil preferred) Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish) Instructions: Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. Prepare the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil over medium-high heat. Season the shrimp with Old Bay seasoning. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of cooking oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Once the butter is melted, add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add the Seasonings: Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, garlic and herb seasoning, dried oregano, and paprika. Cook for 1 minute to allow the spices to release their flavors. Incorporate the Cream and Tomatoes: Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Add the diced tomatoes and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat it evenly with the sauce. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy and well combined. Finish with Shrimp: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, mixing gently to combine with the pasta and sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are heated through. Serve: Divide the creamy Tuscan shrimp pasta among plates. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired. Enjoy your delicious Creamy Tuscan Shrimp Pasta!
