The story of Ruth continues with Naomi’s recognition of God’s loving kindness or hesed at work in her life, for she reverses her lament of bitterness. This book is named after Ruth, not after Naomi, or Boaz. The foreigner woman who plays a part in the genealogy of our Lord Jesus Christ puts many to shame with her sacrificial love for a vulnerable woman.
