How to Make a Water Bottle Rocket!

Welcome back to the Science Guys of San Diego! Who doesn’t love a good rocket?! In this video, we’ll teach you how to make a rocket out of a water bottle! SUPPLIES: • Cardstock Paper • Scissors • Tape • Water Bottle DIRECTIONS: • {Adult} Carefully cut off the bottom of the bottle. • For older kids, an adult can get the cut started, and then the kid can finish cutting the bottom off. • Duct tape around the bottom of the bottle to make sure the plastic doesn’t cut you. • Cut strips of construction paper to match the height of the water bottle. • Tape one end of the construction paper to the bottle. Use at least 3 pieces of tape. • Tightly wrap the paper around the bottle. Tape securely with at least 3 pieces of tape. • Create fins with cardstock paper. Tape to the bottle. LAUNCHING: • We used an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) Generator to launch our rockets. • Lean back and press the red button. Blast off! Like and follow for more fun activities!
