So, if you’re ready to impress at the dinner table, let’s dive right into this delicious sweet and sour ribs recipe! Recipe for Sweet and Sour Ribs Ingredients: 1 lb pork ribs 1 tsp salt 1 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp white pepper 1/2 tsp black pepper 1 tsp chicken powder 2 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp sesame oil 1 tbsp Chinese rice wine 1 tbsp oyster sauce 1 tbsp cornstarch 1 egg Oil for frying For the Sweet and Sour Sauce: 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup white vinegar 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup ketchup 1 cup carrot and onion (sliced) 1 can pineapple rings (with juice) Instructions: Marinate the Ribs: In a bowl, mix together salt, sugar, white pepper, black pepper, and chicken powder. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, Chinese rice wine, and oyster sauce. Stir well. Add cornstarch and an egg, mixing until the ribs are well coated. Let them marinate for 20 to 30 minutes. Prepare the Oil: Preheat oil in a deep pan. You can test the temperature with chopsticks—if it bubbles, it’s ready! Coat the Ribs: Remove the ribs from the marinade, letting excess liquid drip off. Coat each rib in cornstarch and gently squeeze to help it stick. Fry the Ribs: Carefully place the ribs in the hot oil and let them fry for about 5 minutes without moving them. After 5 minutes, stir gently and continue frying for another 5–7 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Make the Sauce: In a separate pan, combine water, vinegar, brown sugar, and ketchup. Stir and bring to a boil. In a small bowl, mix 1 tsp of cornstarch with cold water, then add it to the boiling sauce. Stir until thickened. Add Veggies and Pineapple: Add the sliced carrots and onions, followed by the pineapple rings (whole or chopped) and some of the pineapple juice. Stir well. Combine Ribs and Sauce: Add the fried ribs to the sauce and stir-fry for a few minutes on high heat until everything is well coated and heated through. Serve: Plate the ribs, drizzle with a bit of olive oil for shine, and enjoy your delicious sweet and sour ribs with pineapple! If you try this recipe, let me know how it turns out!
