TODAY'S GOSPEL Monday, September 1, 2025 - Luke 4:16-30 | READING from the WORD of GOD

TODAY'S GOSPEL "He has sent me to bring good news to the poor. No prophet is found in his own country." From the Holy Gospel according to Luke 4:16-30 At that time, Jesus went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered the synagogue, as was his custom on the Sabbath, and stood up to read. The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him, and he unrolled it and found the passage in which it was written: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor, to proclaim liberty to the captives and healing to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor. He rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all those in the synagogue were fixed on him. Then he began to speak, saying: "Today this passage of Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing." Everyone approved of him and admired the wisdom of the words that came from his lips, and they asked, “Isn't this the son of Joseph?” Jesus said to them, “Surely they will tell me this proverb: ‘Physician, heal yourself, and do here in your own hometown all the wonders we heard you did in Capernaum.’” And he added, “I tell you the truth, no prophet is a prophet in his own hometown. There were indeed many widows in Israel in the time of Elijah, when the rain failed for three and a half years, and there was a severe famine throughout the land. Yet Elijah was sent to none of them, only to a widow living in Zarephath, a city of Sidon. There were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, yet none of them was healed except Naaman, who was from Syria.” When they heard this, everyone in the synagogue was filled with rage. They got up, took him out of the city, and led him to a steep hill on which the city was built, in order to throw him down. But he passed through their midst and went away. Word of the Lord. Glory to you, Lord Jesus. ________________________________________ Follow the Animando Tu Misa channel on WhatsApp: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va72... #gospeloftoday #animandotumisa #gospeloftheday #elrincónguadalupano #palabradedios
