Advent: Week 1, Hope

Depending on your church tradition, you may or may not be familiar with Advent. But chances are you’ve heard of it or seen Advent wreaths and candles at some point in your life. Or maybe you’ve eaten chocolate from an Advent calendar! No one is exactly sure how the tradition started, and although it varies greatly in practice, the traditions surrounding Advent are useful for preparing our hearts and minds for the Christmas season.
