Isaiah 1:18 NKJV [18] “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are..
7/28/2024 morning worship service Pastor Anthony Fields " "Where Do I Stand? My Position As A Believer" It is more than a guarantee to go to heaven. There are benefits in the here and now. John 15:7 — "lf you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." ▪︎ GOD'S PART "If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31) As a child of God, I am assured God is for me! ▪︎ JESUS' PART Jesus said, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth," (Matthew 28:18) And He said, This power was given to Him and He now gives it to us! (John 17:22) I have no problem accepting the salvation He provides for me. I have accepted eternal life in Him. But my blessing does not stop there! I have God for me! I have Jesus with me! In Him, I live and move and have my being. ▪︎ THE HOLY SPIRIT'S PART "Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4). Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you" (John 14:17). ▪︎ THE ANGEL'S PART "The angel of the Lord encamps round about them that fear him,.. and delivers them" (Psalms 34:7). ▪︎ Now - MY PART Are we serving this same God? The one of who Jesus said, "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom" (Luke 12:32) God is for us, Jesus is with us, the Holy Spirit is in us, and angels are all around us. How can we fail? We are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37)" ____________________ "Holy One, so often we claim to see but prefer our blindness. Send us teachers and saints whose lives speak loudly of faith and perseverance to guide us when we unknowingly stray from wisdom's course. Help us to find the Way, the Truth, and the Life in this world of shortcuts, deception, and death. Amen." __________________________ " "Think on This: Bow Down; Be Lifted" Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. -1 Peter 5:6 This is tantamount to a promise: if we will bow down, the Lord will lift us up. Humility leads to honor: submission is the way to exaltation. That same hand of God which presses us down is waiting to raise us up when we are prepared to bear the blessing. We stoop to conquer. Many cringe before men, and yet miss the patronage they crave; but he that humbles himself under the hand of God shall not fail to be enriched, uplifted, sustained, and comforted by the ever-gracious One. It is a habit of Jehovah to cast down the proud, and lift up the lowly. Yet there is a time for the Lord's working. We ought now to humble ourselves, even at this present moment; and we are bound to keep on doing so whether the Lord lays His aflicting hand upon us or not. When the Lord smites, it is our special duty to accept the chastisement with profound submission. But as for the Lord's exaltation of us, that can only come "in due time," and God is the best judge of that day and hour. Do we cry out impatiently for the blessing? Would we wish for untimely honor? What are we at? Surely we are not truly humbled, or we should wait with quiet submission. So let us do." ________________________ " "Where to go when you desperately need to be refreshed" Psalm 63:1-11 While running from Saul, David takes refuge in the desert of Judah. David is thirsty and hot, in need of basic physical provisions. But it's spiritual thirst, not physical thirst, that he sings of. — Is there any area of your life that feels like a desert? —What is one truth about God's character that you need to remember to refresh you in the desert? — Think about the last long season of dificultly you faced. What did you learn about God during that time that you couldn't have experienced any other way?"
