Follow our detailed walkthrough to ensure you don't miss any critical items or key events. Enter the Historical Society First, use the Historical Society Key to gain entry into the building. Inside, you'll find a save point near the entrance. Make sure to save your progress before proceeding through the second door on the left. Go Down the Long Tunnel As you walk to the back end of the building, look for a photo of A New Clock in a glass cabinet. Smash the glass to retrieve the photo, then head out to the next room. Here, you'll discover more displays and paintings, along with a tunnel leading downwards. Explore the Underground Area If you're playing on a New Game Plus save file, navigate to the room with the Misty Day, Remains of the Judgement painting. Turn left to find the Obsidian Goblet displayed on the wall. This item is essential for achieving the Rebirth Ending. Note that in a non-New Game Plus save, only a painting of a goblet will be present. Obtain the Spiral-Writing Key Exit the room with the note on the desk into a hallway and turn left. The first room you encounter will have more photos, but continue to the second room at the end of the hallway. There, you will find a square hole. After landing, break the surrounding walls to access a door leading to a waterlogged area. Turn right and follow the path to a room with two doors. The door directly in front will be locked, so enter the door on the right. Open the Door Using the Keypad In this room, you'll find a gate in the floor. Proceed through another door into an adjoining room to find the Spiral-Writing Key on the floor. After picking up the key, the room will swarm with bugs, and the door will lock. To escape, input a code on the keypad by the door. Look for buttons 2, 3, and 9, as they will be cleaner than the others. Try different combinations of these numbers until the door unlocks. Jump Down Past the Gate Backtrack to the gate in the floor and use the Spiral-Writing Key to unlock it. Jump down through the gate. Upon landing, James will awaken in a dimly-lit area of Toluca Prison, ready for the next chapter of this harrowing journey.
