Do I have an awareness of what I truly value in life? Am I being blinded by anything material to God's greatest blessings? Today’s Reflection on the Readings In the gospel reading for today, Jesus gives us two instances of people looking for things that are important to them. And we hear about the happiness individuals have after discovering it. He utilises these illustrations to try and convey to us the idea of how God searches for us and the joy he feels when our friendship with him is restored. His life was sacrificed as a result of his search for us. Yes, these verses deliver a potent message of love in those times when we feel abandoned, desperate, heartbroken, lonely, isolated, accused, without an identity, or cheated out of money or a job. Dear friends, Christ reassures us in these situations that He will always go looking for us even though we are lost sheep. He will go the additional mile and look everywhere to find us. He will watch, wait, and look for us to return to the group. When we do, He will warmly receive each of us with His unconditional love. He will bring us out of emptiness and make us cherished members of His family. Jesus is saying to everyone of us individually today, "My child, taste my love and mercy, and you will never be alone." I treasure you. And I love you. Prayer Holy and Merciful Lord, I'd like to express my gratitude for embracing me with warmth. Thank you, Lord, for finding me when I'm lost, for encouraging me when I'm down, and for showing me once again how much you love me even when I feel abandoned.
