The Men in Green had plenty of batters getting into the double figures, with only opener Saim Ayub converting it into a half-century. He stitched a brilliant 81-run second-wicket stand with Fakhar Zaman, who played a second fiddle during the partnership to lay a solid foundation. Once Ayub was dismissed for 57, Pakistan lost wickets at regular intervals and finished their innings with 178/6 in 20 overs. Shamar Joseph, who replaced Alzarri Joseph for this T20I series, was the pick of the Windies bowlers, bagging three wickets. Romario Shepherd, Jason Holder and Akeal Hosein chipped in with a wicket each. The Windies had a new opening pair, with Johnson Charles and Jewel Andrew giving them a steady start, adding 72 for the first wicket, but they used a bit more time than expected. Both got into the 30s, but got out in the 12th over. Once Mohammad Nawaz got into the action with the ball, the game turned dramatically. The hosts even promoted Gudakesh Motie to counter Nawaz's left-arm spin, but it didn't work. Nawaz eventually ended up grabbing three wickets in one over and made life difficult for the home side in the run chase, even though they had a lengthy batting line-up. The likes of Hope, Sherfane Rutherford, Roston Chase and Romario Shepherd failed to deliver under pressure and left West Indies reeling at 110/7. Jason Holder and Shamar Joseph hit a few big shots and kept their side in the hunt, but eventually it was a bridge that was too far to cross as the Windies were restricted to 164/7.
