The 43rd parliament opened in Canberra today and Tony Abbott has warned Julia Gillard she needs to honour all election promises despite her fragile hold on a minority government. The Government has successfully used its numbers to nominate Liberal Peter Slipper as Deputy Speaker, upsetting Tony Abbott's choice.
