At that time, Jesus gathered the Twelve and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases. Then he sent them out to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. And he said to them, “Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra tunic. Stay in whatever house you enter until you leave that place. And if any town does not welcome you, leave it and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against it.” So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the gospel and healing people everywhere.
