
How to Answer: "Why Should We Hire You?" in an Interview
This is a gift of a question! It’s the moment where you’re fully in charge of presenting yourself in the best way for the role. It’s tempting to just start talking about yourself as if someone said ‘Tell me about you’. Don’t do that! It’s not the same question at all. It’s critical to position yourself in the context of the company and the job, and say what makes you a great fit for both. This is your opportunity to convince the interviewed of what a great hire you’ll be. Think about answering the question in 3 ways: 1. How your experience is highly relevant 2. How your skills are perfectly matched 3. How your attitude, mindset and approach are just what’s needed to have impact in this role.
