Consequently, you bear witness and give consent to the deeds of your ancestors, for they killed them and you do the building. Therefore, the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send to them prophets and Apostles; some of them they will kill and persecute’ in order that this generation might be charged with the blood of all the prophets shed since the foundation of the world, from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah who died between the altar and the temple building. Yes, I tell you, this generation will be charged with their blood! Woe to you, scholars of the law! You have taken away the key of knowledge. You yourselves did not enter and you stopped those trying to enter.” When Jesus left, the scribes and Pharisees began to act with hostility toward him and to interrogate him about many things, for they were plotting to catch him at something he might say. Reflection WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER Persecution is not in contradiction to the Gospel but rather is part of it. If they persecuted our Teacher, how can we hope to be spared the fight? However, in the midst of the storm, Christians must not lose hope, thinking that they have been abandoned. Jesus assures his disciples: “even the hairs on your head are all numbered” (Mat 10:30); as if to say that none of man’s suffering is invisible to the eyes of God. God sees and certainly protects; and he will give his redemption. There is in fact in our midst Someone who is stronger than evil, stronger than the mafia, than those who crush others with disdain.... Someone who has always listened to the cry of Abel’s blood from the earth. (General Audience, 28 June 2017)   Picture Designed by brgfx / Freepik Music from"Royalty Free Music from Bensound , #todaysgospel #today'sgospel #gospelofLuke #Catholic DailyMassReadings #dailyhomily #todays #Gospel #Readings#DailyGospelReflection #powerfultalk #retreat #catholicchurch #anudhinasuvisheshaailyReadings#talk #dailygospel #dailyInspiration#catholicChurch #MassReadingsfromBible #christianSong#catholicsong#catholicTalk #DailymassReadingReflection #Today'sGospel #todaysgospel #Today'sGospelreadings #todaysgospelreadings. #gospel #reflection #daily #dailymassreading #mass #massreadingsfortoday #todaysmassreadings #bibleverse #bibleversefortoday #dailygospel #bibleversefortoday #todayshomily #DailyMassReadings Today's Gospel, Todays Gospel,Today's Gospel Reading , WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER , Luke 11:47-54 , October 13 2022,Gospel of Luke , Gospel and Reflection, daily gospel, catholic, catholic mass reading, catholic bible reading, daily mass bible readings, daily gospel today, bible, mass readings for today, gospel readings 2022,daily mass readings, the word today, daily reflection, daily gospel reflection, today's mass readings,Word of God, Thursday gospel
