Christmas Day 2023
Octave Day 1 Christmas Day Monday 25th of December 2023 This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger. (Luke 2:1-20) Today we celebrate the great day we have longed for, prepared diligently for and waited in vigil – the Birth of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on this Christmas day. Thank you for being with me on this virtual advent pilgrimage of faith, hope, love, light and joy for the past 4 weeks. I love the message of Christina Rossetti: What can I give Him, Poor as I am? If I were a shepherd I would bring a lamb, If I were a wise man I would do my part – Yet what can I give Him? Give my heart. Wishing you a very happy and holy Christmas to you and yours as you give your heart to Jesus this Holy Season and always. Amen. ************ Bishop Fintan Monahan of Killaloe Diocese has created a series of short, spiritual, reflective videos providing insightful thoughts and reflections on our celebration of various aspects of the faith, prayer, spirituality, scripture, tradition, the Paschal Mystery and many related topics.
