Screw-up

I replaced a heat pump condenser on a burn-out... Had to flush lineset/coil because of change to R410a. Not completely satisfied with the flush... installed suction line filter/drier. To keep unit from running in heat mode... jumpered y and o at o/d unit... 'whenever there's a call for heat... o will be energized and run in cooling'... that's what I THOUGHT... oops. The thermostat holds 'o' whenever it's set for 'cool' so 'y' is powered whenever t-stat is set for cool. Luckily, you don't leave suction line driers in for very long, and the system wasn't permanently damaged. Whew. (should have jumped 'r' to 'o' ... I won't do that again)
