🍼 Foods to Avoid During Pregnancy 🍼

When you're pregnant, knowing what not to eat is just as important as knowing what to include. While cravings are real (and sometimes intense!), being mindful of your choices can make a big difference for both you and your baby’s health. Here are some key foods to limit or avoid during pregnancy: 🚫 Alcohol & Excess Caffeine – While small amounts of caffeine may be okay, it’s best to limit it since too much can affect your baby's heart rate. As for alcohol, it's safest to avoid it altogether during pregnancy. 🚫 Certain Medications & Herbs – Some over-the-counter meds and herbal remedies may not be pregnancy-safe. Always consult your doctor before taking anything new. 🚫 Processed Foods & Excess Sugar – While those cravings for sweets or salty snacks might hit hard, too much sugar can raise your risk of gestational diabetes. Balance is key! Aim for whole, nutrient-dense foods whenever possible. 🚫 Deli Meats & Unpasteurized Cheeses – Deli meats are prone to listeria contamination, which can be dangerous for your baby—even if you don’t feel sick. Listeria can cause serious complications, including stillbirth, so it's best to skip cold cuts unless they’re thoroughly heated. Pregnancy is such an exciting time, and your body is working hard to nourish and protect your little one. By being mindful of your diet and focusing on fresh, whole foods, you’re giving your baby the best start possible. ❤️ 👉 Watch the full episode on YouTube for more insights on foods to enjoy, foods to avoid, and how to build a healthy pregnancy meal plan!
