Intestinal worms in puppies! How to diagnose and treat roundworms in the puppy.
Good Morning Everyone! My name is Dan, and I am a veterinarian. Today I am talking about roundworms in puppies. Dewormers for Dogs can be found on Dr. Dan's Amazon Page! https://www.amazon.com/shop/danthevet... *Always talk with your veterinarian before starting or stoping any medications* This video is for entertainment and educational purposes only. If your pet is sick, take them to see your local veterinarian for the care they need** (Disclaimer) Roundworms are an intestinal parasite that affects puppies. Pet owners may see vomiting and diarrhea from the worms...or nothing at all. As a veterinarian, I want a poop sample to diagnose roundworms in all puppies. Roundworms are very common in puppies, because the mommy dog gives them to the puppies. The Puppies get the worms through a few different route. Puppies can get the worms from mommy dog when they are being developed in the uterus, during nursing, and fecal oral once in the real world. This is why a veterinarian will want to complete a fecal exam to look for the roundworms or any parasites that could be causing a GI infection. Deworming is very simple. Once the veterinarian has diagnosed the worm, the veterinarian will pick the correct deworming. Sometimes a veterinarian will also just deworm to make sure no worms were missed on the fecal. In this case the veterinarian will use a dewormer that covers a large number of worms.
