This evening, January 25, 2025, a rare planetary alignment will be visible in the night sky over New York City. Starting around 5:00 p.m., we can observe Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars with the naked eye. Uranus and Neptune will also be aligned but require binoculars or a telescope for viewing. The optimal time for observation is between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., with the best conditions around 6:00 p.m. For the best experience, find a location with minimal light pollution and clear views of the northeast and southwest horizons. Given the current mostly cloudy conditions and a temperature of 30°F (-1°C), dressing warmly is advisable. Allow your eyes 15–20 minutes to adjust to the darkness for optimal viewing.
