First Sunday of Advent November 29, 2020 10:00 a.m. *stand as you are able In 1908, Baden-Powell, an English soldier, devised the Scout motto: “Be Prepared.” He published it in Scouting for Boys. To Be Prepared means “you are always in a state of readiness in mind and body to do your duty.” Most of us are not as alert as we’d like to be in terms of being prepared for a sudden emergency, but we understand the concept of readiness. Jesus says that we are to be alert and ready for his soon and coming return; by keeping Jesus first in life—we’ll be ready. Welcome to All! Prelude P. This is the Day the Lord has made! C. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
