Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time TODAY’S READINGS First Reading — Mal 3: 1-4 Psalm — Ps 23: 7-10 Second Reading — Heb 2: 14-18 Gospel — Lk 2: 22-40 A Fulfillment of God’s Promise Today, we witness the special moment of Jesus’ presentation in the temple, where Mary and Joseph dedicate their firstborn Son according to the Mosaic law. This scene beautifully shows God’s faithfulness to His promises. Simeon and Anna, both filled with the Holy Spirit, recognize Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah. When Simeon says, “For my eyes have seen your salvation,” he highlights that Jesus brings hope not just for Israel, but for all of humanity. Anna’s strong faith and prophetic insights remind us how important it is to persevere as we wait for God’s grace. We’re invited to think about how we see Christ in our own lives. Like Simeon and Anna, we’re encouraged to stay strong in our faith and trust that God is always present.
