First Reading: Genesis 11:1-9 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 33:10-11, 12-13, 14-15 Alleluia: John 15:15B Gospel: Mark 8:34-9:1 Following Christ may seem difficult because it involves much sacrifice and suffering. But we all know from our own experiences that sacrifice and suffering bring us to a deeper level of understanding of what life is all about, a higher sense of purpose for the eternal rather than the temporal. The practice of our Christian faith should lead us to a change of attitude — a desire to be holy, a longing for peace and contentment brought only by conscientiously following Jesus, our Lord. This is the 1046th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
