And you have said: What have we spoken against you? You have said: He labors in vain who serves God, and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinances, and that we have walked sorrowful before the Lord of hosts? Therefore, now we call the proud people happy, for they that work wickedness are built up, and they have tempted God and are preserved. Then they that feared the Lord spoke every one with his neighbor: and the Lord gave ear, and heard it: and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that fear the Lord, and think on his name. And they shall be my special possession, says the Lord of hosts, in the day that I do judgment: and I will spare them, as a man spares his son that serves him. And you shall return, and shall see the difference between the just and the wicked: and between him that serves God, and him that serves him not. For behold the day shall come kindled as a furnace: and all the proud, and all that do wickedly shall be stubble: and the day that comes shall set them on fire, says the Lord of hosts, it shall not leave them root, nor branch. But unto you that fear my name, the Sun of justice shall arise, and health in his wings. Responsorial Psalm: Ps 1:1-2, 3, 4 and 6 R. (Ps 40:5a) Blessed are they who hope in the Lord. Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the chair of pestilence. But his will is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he shall meditate day and night. R. Blessed are they who hope in the Lord. And he shall be like a tree which is planted near the running waters, which shall bring forth its fruit, in due season. And his leaf shall not fall off: and all whatsoever he shall do shall prosper. R. Blessed are they who hope in the Lord. Not so the wicked, not so: but like the dust, which the wind drives from the face of the earth. For the Lord understands the way of the just: and the way of the wicked shall perish. R. Blessed are they who hope in the Lord. Alleluia: See Acts 16:14b R. Alleluia, alleluia. Open our hearts, O Lord, to listen to the words of your Son. R. Alleluia, alleluia. Gospel: Luke 11:5-13 And he said to them: "Which of you will have a friend and will go to him in the middle of the night, and will say to him: 'Friend, lend me three loaves, because a friend of mine has arrived from a journey to me, and I do not have anything to set before him.' And from within, he would answer by saying: 'Do not disturb me. The door is closed now, and my children and I are in bed. I cannot get up and give it to you.' Yet if he will persevere in knocking, I tell you that, even though he would not get up and give it to him because he is a friend, yet due to his continued insistence, he will get up and give him whatever he needs. And so I say to you: Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. And whoever seeks, finds. And whoever knocks, it shall be opened to him. So then, who among you, if he asks his father for bread, he would give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he would give him a serpent, instead of a fish? Or if he will ask for an egg, he would offer to him a scorpion? Therefore, if you, being evil, know how to give good things to your sons, how much more will your Father give, from heaven, a spirit of goodness to those who ask him?" === Reflection: https://mycatholic.life/books/catholi...
