Through #namecalling, #smearcampaigns, #discrediting, #devaluation, #ostracism and unrelenting #verbalabuse, the narcissist strives to grind the scapegoat down into submission and eradicate their power. When #mindgames and #manipulation fail to work, narcissistic family members often escalate to threats, #financialabuse and even physical violence to force compliance. Yet through all the narcissistic abuse and injustice, the scapegoat is able to maintain their #sanity, #selfworth, #autonomy and #values in the face of such toxicity. Their #resilience allows them to withstand being made the constant #targetofblame by the narcissist and their #enablers. The scapegoat is the family member who often has the most power to expose the rot at the heart of the #narcissisticfamily. They threaten to reveal the narcissist as the #emotionalpredator they are.
