How to PLANT GARLIC in the Fall in RAISED BEDS

Garlic is something that we really enjoy cooking with. It adds so much flavor to every dish. What's great about garlic is that it is easy to grow in the home garden. Planting it really couldn't be much easier than it is and once you have garlic planted it doesn't require much beyond routine maintenance. Planting garlic in the fall will allow you to enjoy fresh garlic from your garden the following summer! Garlic is fairly pest free so I don't worry about the squirrels and the deer; one of the few plants I can say that about! In the video I'm growing a garlic from a grocery store in one raised bed and Inchelium Garlic in another raised bed. Bulbs from Inchelium garlic can get larger than 3 inches and have a relatively mild flavor. Inchelium is a soft neck garlic which does well in my area (zone 7 Tennessee). There are many varieties of garlic available to choose from! Once your garlic is planted you can sow companion plants along with it like lettuce, kale, or mustard greens. 00:00 Intro 01:06 Type of Garlic I am Planting 01:35 Raised Beds for Garlic 01:52 Woodchips in the raised beds 03:05 Soil for the Raised Beds 04:00 Fertilizer to Balance the woodchips 06:07 Breaking Apart the Garlic Bulbs 07:21 Planting Garlic 09:30 Watering the Raised Beds Visit Growing the Home Garden for a written version of how to plant and grow garlic: https://growingthehomegarden.com/how-...
