2025-09-20 8:30 am. Saturday celebration of the Holy Mass

Good morning everyone and welcome to the celebration of the Holy Mass and the Memorial of Saint Andrew Kim Tae-gon, Saint Paul Chong Ha-sang and Companions. Andrew Kim, the first Korean priest, was among the 10,000 Christians who were killed during the persecutions of the mid-19th century and Paul Chang, a seminarian anc catechist, was one of the many lay people who suffered. In the reading from the Holy Gospel this morning, Saint Luke tells of when a great crowd gathered and came to Jesus and he told them a parable of a "Sower who went out to sow seed". When the disciples asked him what this parable meant, Jesus said; "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. ... But as for that in the good soil, these are the ones who, when they hear the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patient endurance." The Responsorial Psalm is Psalm 100: "Come with joy into the presence of the Lord."
