The Walking Dead: Season 1 Episode 2 Starved For Help Part 3

Almost nothing is known about Jolene's life before or as the outbreak. She worked at the Save Lots, and had a daughter. This is implied by the bloody stuffed rabbit found in her tent, a photo, Clementine's hat, and her statement that the bandits took her little girl into the woods. Upon humanity's fall, Jolene sought refuge in Save Lots and met bandits near St. John's Dairy. They took her daughter, Clementine, and left her to fend for herself. Jolene discovered a motel and spy on Lee's group with her video camera. She took Clementine's hat for comfort and raped her. When Danny and Lee discover her camp, they find boxes, her camera, and Clementine's hat. Jolene reveals that Lee stole Clementine and the St. Johns are hiding something. During an argument, Jolene is shot dead by Lee. Before the outbreak, Mark was formerly employed at a US Air Force base before it was overrun, but did not appear to be familiar with either Lilly or her father, Larry. During the period between "A New Day" and "Starved For Help", the group discovered him alone in the air force base, having managed to lock himself inside one of the commissary storage closets when the base was overrun. Since he had access to the commissary supplies as a result, Lilly allowed him to stay at the Motor Inn. Mark joined Lee's group during the 3 months between the events of "A New Day" and "Starved For Help". While hunting in the woods with Lee and Kenny, they encountered Ben Paul, Travis, and David Parker, the latter of the three who was caught in a bear trap (likely placed by the St. John brothers). Depending on Lee's choices, Mark carried either a wounded David or Travis back to the Motor Inn. At the motel, Mark, along with Lee and Kenny, was scolded for bringing back more mouths to feed. When Lee was put in charge of handing out food, Mark seemed especially weak. If he was given either the axe or food, he would help save Katjaa and Lee from a recently reanimated David. Later, when helping out around the St. John's Dairy Farm, Mark was shot in the shoulder with an arrow by the Save-Lots Bandits. Lee and Mark returned to the house where he was put in the care of Brenda St. John. Mark was not seen for sometime after this. If Brenda was questioned about whether or not Mark could be checked on, she just assured Lee that everything was all right. Mark was absent at dinner, and Brenda lied about taking a plate upstairs to a recovering Mark. Lee became suspicious and decided to investigate. Mark was found in a bathroom, with both legs cut off. Mark warned Lee that the St. John brothers were responsible and that dinner should not be eaten, as his legs were the main course. Lee rushed to warn the group, leaving Mark to drag himself out of the room and tumble down the stairs. After the St. Johns exposed their secret of cannibalism, Lee was knocked unconscious and the group was taken prisoner. It is implied that the St. Johns kept Mark alive upstairs, as the family's victims were kept alive to prevent the meat from becoming "tainted." Evidence supporting this is found in medical instruments and supplies found earlier in the dairy house. Larry, a retired army commander with heart problems, married a woman and had a daughter, Lilly, who survived the apocalypse. Larry's losses hardened him, leading to a harsh and judgmental approach towards life and those he believes might threaten Lilly. He also knows the story of Lee Everett's troubled past, causing an antagonistic relationship between the two. Larry believed Lee's murderer status threatened his daughter and their group, even going as far as trying to kill Lee to save everyone else.
