In Loving memorey of those whos lives have recently been altered from car accidents
Around the Gainesville area my community has been beatin down by fatal car crashes. We will never forget them... An Oakwood woman was killed Wednesday in a one-car accident south of Gainesville. Victoria Lynn Thompson, 30, died after the car she was in ran off Calvary Church Road and crashed. Thompson was ejected from the car during the crash, Hall County Deputy Coroner John Abernathy said. The accident happened at about 3 p.m. on Calvary Church Road near Barber Road, according to the Georgia State Patrol. ALSO+++++ A 16-year-old girl involved in a multiple-vehicle crash Tuesday in Gainesville has died, a family member said. Alicia Mote, who was riding in a Ford Escort with her parents Tuesday when the car was struck by a 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck, died Tuesday night of injuries sustained in the wreck, her aunt, Gretchen Mote said today. Alicia Motes father, 39-year-old Gainesville resident James Daniel Mote, remains in an intensive care unit at Grady Memorial Hospital, Gretchen Mote said. Jennifer Dawn Mote, 35, James Motes wife and Alicia Motes mother, also was riding in the car. The family was involved in a four-vehicle wreck that injured several and began when the driver of the Ford F-150 crossed the center line of Browns Bridge Road, striking the Motes vehicle. The preliminary investigation shows that Jason Greer, 33, of Gainesville was traveling west on Browns Bridge when his truck crossed the centerline and struck the Ford Escort driven by James Mote, said Lt. Brian Kelly, Gainesville police spokesman. Mote was traveling east on Browns Bridge at the time, Kelly said. After the initial collision, the Ford truck rolled over, striking a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country van driven by Elaine Daughters, 48, of Cumming, Kelly said. Daughters mother, Ellen Schwaemmle, 77, of Dawsonville, was a passenger in the van. The truck continued rolling, striking a utility pole and coming to a stop off the road. Before striking the utility pole, debris from the truck struck a 2001 Nissan Maxima driven by Jordan Buchannan, 18, of Gainesville, Kelly said. Daughters and Buchannan were traveling east, behind Motes car, at the time of the accident. All seven of the wreck victims were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment; at the time, police said 16-year-old Alicia Mote was the most seriously injured.
