Silver Surfer, is a fictional Marvel Comics character created by Jack Kirby in 1966, a humanoid alien with metallic skin who can travel through space using a surfboard as a vehicle. Originally a young astronomer named Norrin Radd on the planet Zenn-La, he saved his hometown from the planet eater, Galactus, by becoming a herald. In return he was given a portion of Galactus' Power Cosmic, he gained great strength, a new body, and a surfboard-like craft that he could use to travel faster than light. Now known as the Silver Surfer, he roams the cosmos looking for planets for Galactus to consume. When his journey takes him to Earth, he meets the Fantastic Four, who help him rediscover the nobility of the soul. He betrayed Galactus, and saved Earth but was exiled there as punishment.
