Line-to-Line Knot for Braided Fishing Line: Albright Knot

Subscribe -    / @pureoceantv   The Albright knot is a highly regarded fishing knot specifically designed to connect two lines of different diameters, such as braided and monofilament. It is well-known for its strength and smoothness, making it easy to tie and glide smoothly through fishing guides. This knot is versatile and suitable not only for linking different types of fishing lines but also for connecting monofilaments of varying diameters. One common application of the Albright knot is attaching fly lines to backing lines. The Alberto knot is just one more step, and it is a better, more secure knot. Begin by forming a loop in the heavier line and passing approximately 10 inches of the lighter line through this loop. 2. Grasp the three lines with your thumb and index finger and wrap the lighter line around itself and both strands of the loop, completing 5 to 10 tight turns. 3. Next, feed the tag end of the lighter line back through the loop, ensuring it exits on the same side from which it entered. 4. Once the wraps are secure and snug against the loop, pull the lighter line to tighten the knot, and finally, trim any excess tag ends for a clean finish. I like to cut the leader, whether monofilament or fluorocarbon, super close, but for the braid line, I like to leave a quarter millimeter of tag in just in case they do not slip.
